Immigration Reform 2013 – New Immigration Law

The Senate discussed a plan to increase visas to fill industry demands for highly skilled immigrant workers in the science and technology fields.  Senator Hatch, a Republican from Utah, indicated that he would introduce a bill to greatly increase the number of temporary visas available for these high skilled workers, and to provide them with access to green cards and eventually citizenship.

Major technology employers have been asking for years for more visas for foreigners with computer, engineering and mathematics skills.

Increasing these types of visas should be a part of any comprehensive immigration reform as it has bipartisan support.
