Immigration Reform 2013 – New Immigration Law

The lead story in today’s New York Times indicated that the Republican opposition to comprehensive immigration reform seems to be eroding.  Senator Rand Paul is now embracing a more welcoming approach to comprehensive reform that enables the 11 million undocumented immigrants to find a place in America’s society.  This represented a significant shift in his position on immigration.  The article went on to say that “Republican sentiment for a more liberal immigration policy has been building in the aftermath of last year’s election.”

The change of heart of several Republicans “is providing strong momentum for an overhaul of immigration laws.”
